The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has allocated $5 million to host the inaugural World Accountancy Forum (WAF) in Singapore in November 2025. The forum aims to bring together top business and accountancy leaders from around the world to discuss pressing issues and trends in the industry. Accountancy is playing an increasingly proactive role in addressing key business issues, such as advising on strategy, sustainability reporting, and integrating new technologies like AI into business processes.

The WAF will serve as a platform for global leaders in business and accountancy to collaborate and share expertise. Prominent international figures will be invited to speak at the forum, while various global organizations in the industry will also hold their annual meetings in conjunction with the forum in Singapore.

At ISCA’s Annual Dinner, Distinguished Lifetime Membership (DLM) and Special Appreciation Awards were conferred to individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession. The DLM was awarded to Mr. Chaly Mah, while the Special Appreciation Awards were given to the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (SCAQ) Advisory Panel and the Accountancy Workforce Review Committee for their contributions to Singapore’s accountancy and business sectors.

ISCA President Mr. Teo Ser Luck highlighted the importance of recognizing individuals who have shaped the accounting profession and expressed optimism about the profession’s growth, with a significant increase in SCAQ candidate enrollments in 2024.
