KPMG International has announced the appointment of Dan Konigsburg as its new global head of public affairs. Konigsburg will be replacing Stephen Allis, who will retire from the firm at the end of March. Konigsburg has previously worked at KPMG for over 30 years, most recently serving as the company’s Global Chairman of Human Rights and Social Impact Services.

In other news, Deloitte Tax recently held its annual tax competition for university students. The competition, called Deloitte FanTAXtic, challenges students to tackle a complex business tax case. The winning team from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln provided advice on structuring a new business and received first place in the competition.
