  • Student Dustin Ward earns Deloitte internship in London through UNG’s accounting program.

University of North Georgia (UNG) is committed to upholding free speech rights on campus while ensuring a safe and respectful environment. The school values the exchange of ideas and promotes civility among its students. However, it emphasizes that unlawful behavior such as breaking the law, harassment, violence, and other criminal acts will not be tolerated.

UNG senior Dustin Ward, pursuing a degree in accounting, has been selected for an internship with Deloitte accounting firm in London next spring. He will be part of the US Business Tax group, where he will work on tax return work papers and research tax issues using software. Ward was inspired to apply for the internship to gain experience in the accounting field while living abroad.

Ward’s achievements include being selected as a participant in the Mike Cottrell College of Business spring break trip to London in 2024 and receiving a $1,000 scholarship from the Georgia Society of CPAs Educational Foundation. He credits Dr. Ellen Best, accounting and law department head, as a mentor who encouraged him to pursue these opportunities.
