With extensive experience in finance and as a licensed CPA, Sanders previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Controller and Data Governance Officer at National Cooperative Bank. In his new role at Freedom Bank of Virginia, Sanders will oversee the accounting department and work with the finance team to establish financial metrics and business intelligence for each line of business to execute the bank’s strategy. Joe Thomas, President and CEO of Freedom Bank, believes that Sanders will be a valuable addition to the bank’s leadership team, contributing his accounting experience to strengthen financial reporting and prepare the bank for future growth.
